SPEACIALTY TRAINING CLASSES are industry driven but not classified as ‘Programs’.

These classes are held as industry demands increase for the skills required.

Some of these classes are ‘defined’ entry, meaning there is no flexibility of time or days.

Apprenticeship-Electrical  

Apprentices will be taught installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. They will be able to ensure that work is completed in accordance with relevant codes.  May install or service street lights, intercom systems, or electrical control systems.  These classes are required in addition to work experience in order to qualify to take the state exam to become a licensed electrician.

Apprenticeship-Plumbing  

Apprentices will be taught to assemble, install, alter, and repair, pipelines or pipe systems that carry water, steam, air, or other liquids or gases.  They may install heating and cooling equipment and mechanical control systems.  These classes are required in addition to work experience in order to qualify to take the state exam to become a licensed plumber.

Building Construction Classes

Beginning April 2008 several 20-24 hour courses will be offered in the areas of:

Framing, Finish Carpentry, HVAC, Cement Finishing, Painting, Stucco Applications,

Tile/Masonry and other topics.

Cost for each class is $200.00

Cabinet & Mill Work 

Classes entail cabinet construction including tool operation, wood characteristics, basic sanding and finishing techniques, blueprint reading, molding and mill work and installation.  Please call (435) 652-7730 for information and schedules for upcoming classes.

 

Custom Woodworking  

Instructor is proficient in cabinet making and can assist you in a variety of wood projects.

Cost of class is $110.00

Flight Attendant Training Course

This is a short term, intense class designed to teach airline safety and prepare students for a successful interview with any airline.  Anyone 17 years old or older can attend.  Seating is limited.

Steel Fabrication  

Students will learn skills in Gas Metal Arc Welding and Flux Core Arc Welding.  Other training will include safety, blueprint reading, fitting, and a review of the basic math used in the profession.

Wildland Firefighter Course

This course is designed to meet the basic NWCG (National Wildland Coordinating Group) Firefighter safety and skills required for fireline work for those who wish to gain employment with Federal and Private fire fighting agencies.  Upon completion students will receive the Basic Firefighter II Certification.
