ATTENDANCE POLICY – Adult Students

1. Regular attendance in class is just as important as attendance on the job every day.

The DXATC expects the same level of attendance that is expected by employers.

2. Students must attend a minimum of 75 percent (75%) of the total clock hours scheduled for each of the courses in their program each month.

Instructors will review attendance with students on a regular basis. Students not meeting 75% may be placed on probation.

If attendance is not improved for the next month, students will be subject to disciplinary action.

Ten consecutive days of unexcused absence will result in automatic withdrawal from the school.

3. Definitions

Excused Absence

A reason for being absent that has been approved by the course instructor. Examples of legitimate reasons for being excused would be a death in the family, or an accident or illness that is not preventable. Each course instructor will make the determination as to whether or not an absence can be excused.

Unexcused Absence

An absence for which the course instructor will not approve as being excused. Unexcused absences will be counted as an absence toward the 25% allowable absence each month.
