ATTENDANCE POLICY – Adult Students
1. Regular attendance in class is just as important as attendance on the job every day.
- The DXATC expects the same level of attendance that is expected by employers.
2. Students must attend a minimum of 75 percent (75%) of the total clock hours scheduled for each of the courses in their program each month.
- Instructors will review attendance with students on a regular basis. Students not meeting 75% may be placed on probation.
- If attendance is not improved for the next month, students will be subject to disciplinary action.
- Ten consecutive days of unexcused absence will result in automatic withdrawal from the school.
3. Definitions
- Excused Absence
A reason for being absent that has been approved by the course instructor. Examples of legitimate reasons for being excused would be a death in the family, or an accident or illness that is not preventable. Each course instructor will make the determination as to whether or not an absence can be excused.
- Unexcused Absence
An absence for which the course instructor will not approve as being excused. Unexcused absences will be counted as an absence toward the 25% allowable absence each month.
