High School Programs

High School Students wanting to attend DXATC classes or participate in Certificate Programs must speak to their school counselors and arrange a schedule.
If necessary, they must also arrange transportation to where the class is being held if not at their High School.
- Building Construction: Snow Canyon High School
The Building Construction Program is designed to teach and develop basic skills required in the planning and building of residential structures. Most of the trades involved in building a home are included in the training program
- Cabinetmaking: Dixie High School
These classes teach all aspects of making cabinets. Proper use of woodworking tools, shop safety, and basic blueprint reading is included. Students learn the basic skills required to begin working as a cabinet maker’s assistant.
- Cosmetology: Evans Beauty College or Hairitage Hair Academy or
Taylor Andrews Academy of Hair Design
Students learn to perform such tasks as coloring, permanents, applying make-up, cutting and styling. They will receive training required to earn a state license. Successful completion of the program prepares students to take state boards. Students who want to enter this program will need to work closely with their high school counselor. Registration forms are completed at either Evans Beauty College or Hairitage Hair Academy
- I-Net+: Enterprise High School
These are introductory classes. Additional training is required for employability.
- Web Design: Pine View High School
These are introductory classes. Additional training is required for employability.
- Welding: Dixie and Hurricane High Schools
Students learn valuable skills that prepare them for jobs in many companies in the area. In this program results happen through learning. This is a competency based program, which is in line with the State Competency Test for welding.
