DRAFTING
The courses at the DXATC in Drafting, are designed around the need of Washington County. The growth in this geographic area has been in small business buildings and residential architecture. Therefore, the emphasis for the DXATC Drafting Program has been to meet the demand for entry-level training and continuing education for employment in this area of a growing community. Our emphasis is in Civil Drafting, Architectural Drafting, and Auto Cad skills. Certification is available in each of these areas. The philosophy of the instructional staff is to provide professional instructors in each of these disciplines, so we have enlisted the skills of the individuals who do specific kinds of work in the community. They, in turn, instruct our students in these areas: Architecture, engineering, building designing, surveying, GIS Specialty, etc.
Each of these areas of interest has differing demands so each will require a different length of time to complete. Students do not need any previous training to succeed in these courses of study. Students will be met with a variety of training experiences to succeed in these courses of study. Students will be met with a variety of training to succeed in these courses to give them the broadest base possible to prepare them for work in the community, and given them a practical portfolio to present as a portion of the job application.
