Building Construction Program

Dixie Applied Technology College is beginning an annual schedule of courses targeting the education and training needs of Southern Utah's construction industry. Beginning April 2008 through March 2009, several 20-24 hour courses will be offered by the College in the areas of Framing, Finish Carpentry, HVAC, Cement Finishing, Painting, Stucco Applications, Tile/Masonry and other topics.

Under the direction of the Dixie ATC Construction Advisory Committee, an excellent curriculum has been developed, including theory and hands-on instruction. The course will assist potential and already-working carpenters and framers to improve and increase their workplace skills.

Instructors will include Mark Fahrenkamp, of Ash Creek Builders, Patrick McCarthy, Rodney Aldrich and additional Dixie ATC personnel.

Cost is $200 per class. Limited scholarships are available through Southern Utah Homebuilders. Enrollment is limited, so call and reserve your spot today.
